The Building Control Section is part of the Planning Division of the Department of Development Services. For the purposes of administration the borough is divided into four areas.

In addition to the usual services provided under the Building Regulations, the Building Control Section has responsibilities in respect of: Dangerous Structures/Demolition/Street Numbering/House Naming and Regulated Stands.

The section works in close liaison with Development Control/Highways/Drainage/Environmental Health and North Yorkshire County Council Fire and Rescue Services.

Contact times:
9.00am – 10.30am on Monday to Friday;
4.00pm – 5.15pm Monday to Thursday; and
4.00pm – 4.45pm Friday
