The Development and Planning Services provides a co-ordinated Development Control and Building Control Service.

The council’s progressive and forward thinking strategy has resulted in several major developments including:

A new 15,000 all seat community stadium complex

An integrated transport interchange facility
The Education City

The Building Control Team covers the full remit of building control work including:

Processing of Building Regulation Applications, with in excess of 95% receiving substantive responses within ten days of deposit
Dealing with dangerous structures on a 24/7 basis
Demolitions
Street Naming and Numbering
Sports Ground Safety Certification
Consultees on Licensing applications
