The Planning Service is divided into four basic functions:
(a) Policy Development
(b) Improvement
(c) Building Control
(d) Development Control
The service’s mission is to help to reindustrialise and regenerate the Borough by the effective use of the planning and development process to create employment opportunities, conserve and improve the environment and enhance the quality of life for all its residents.
To achieve this the service gives a positive approach to encouraging new businesses and households to establish themselves in the borough.
Above all, the various sections are there to help and assist with any problems or queries developers may have.
